Post 405 began meeting upstairs in the Kornegay Building (Present Post Office). The Post was very active in the construction and fundraising for the original Pine Level School Gymnasium located on a lot purchase by the Legion and later donated to the school. Meetings were held in the gym until a side wing was constructed and shared with the Pine level Women’s Club and the American Legion. In the late 1950’s the current building was constructed on the corner of US Hwy. 70A and Legion Dr.

Post 405 is a very active Post supporting veterans and communities activities. Our members come from the surrounding communities of Brodgen, Kenly, Micro, Pine Level, Princeton, Selma, and Smithfield. We have several members from outside the county and even state.

Post 405 sponsors two Student Scholarships yearly. These are awarded to a graduating senior from Princeton HS and North Johnston HS yearly. The scholarships are awarded to children of veterans or qualifying family members that meet certain standards including an “in person” interview.

The Post sponsors Boy Scout Troop 63, located in Pine Level as well as other projects yearly.

The Pine Level Senior Citizens meets monthly on the 2nd Wednesday of each month.

The primary fundraisers for the Post are the fall BBQ plate sale in September and the Thanksgiving Turkey Shoot held the Tuesday and Wednesday before Thanksgiving.

American Legion Post 405 appreciates the support of the community for our fundraising efforts and activities. We all should support our veterans that have served this great Country and remembering those that have made the ultimate sacrifice in the defense of our freedom.

Thank you for continuing to serve America.
